On the series "Lost" does anyone think that the island is a prison to keep the MIB a prisoner?

I thought Jacob is the guardian and the MIB is only prisoner. If you are thinking about the best island prisons. Is that logical? Dobby, do you think the boy with hands full of blood is an evocation of the story of Cain and Abel? Do you think that the MIB would be Cain?

I think that's an interesting theory. I do not know if I'm on board, but I recognize it as a possibility. It certainly makes sense. I think they may be related to a blood some way. I also think they may closely resemble that story of Cain and Abel. They seem to be diametrically opposed, as those biblical characters, and Lost is not new to biblical allusions. Also, why is everyone so sure that Jacob is good? Before we met Jacob, the idea of it never struck me as kind. He is very willing to sacrifice innocent people to the island, and often do not meet his disciples. I'm not saying that Smokey Ol 'is good, but we all may be poorly written off Jacob as a good guy.
