Not Your Way to Success
A life of great accomplishments can be regarded as a series of failures punctuated by high – Success for what many do not realize that the higher the level of success you achieve in your life, the more failures you will experience. We need both – the failures and successes – how else would we be able to enjoy our success when it finally arrived.
Jack Canfield said in an interview that "Chicken Soup for the Soul" (co-author Mark Victor Hansen) was rejected by 144 publishers,
"Nobody wanted. They all said it was a stupid title, that nobody bought collections of short stories, he There was no edge – no sex, no violence. Why would anyone read it?
Their agent was dropped after the first 33 publishers in New York discharges.
"Sorry boys, I can not sell it."
Honestly, can you blame him? After all, he did not have the same personal investment in this product as Jack Canfield, and his co-author Mark Victor Hansen.
But the "experts" were wrong.
"Chicken Soup for the Soul" became an international bestseller and inspired a series of more than 100 pounds of chicken soup with titles as obscure that "Chicken Soup for the Scrapbooker's Soul" and "Chicken Soup for the feeding of pets Dog Lover's Soul". Really!
In the long term, the absence of the agent endurance proved to be an advantage to Canfield and Hansen as they got to keep 15% commission to the agent.
It takes a very special mentality seems to persevere against all odds – the mentality Achiever of a goal, the mentality of a winner!
Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen are not only authors to have suffered repeated refusal of their literary efforts.
Other famous examples of authors who have lived many releases
1. john grisham "A Time to Kill" has also been repeatedly rejected. "A Time to Kill" has been transformed into a great film with a stellar cast including Samuel L Jackson, Sandra Bullock and Matthew McConaughey.
2. Alex Haley's "Roots" was rejected 200 times! Yet serialization television Roots has taken the world by storm.
3. "James Redfield The Celestine Prophecy" was first self-published. It was the success of Metro has made publishers sit up and take note. "The Celestine Prophecy" is a testament to the power of viral marketing. It sold over one hundred thousand copies in its first few months of printing mainly by word of mouth.
So you see, if you really believe in something, within reason, of course, go to the end. Keep trying different and approaches and combinations until you find a way to make your idea, your dream fruit.
I read recently Rudyl Corey, the guru of Internet Marketing has been an investment of $ 25 into over $ 40,000,000 in online sales and, in the process helped thousands start their activities Internet clean. Corey died suddenly and tragically in a car accident last year.
Corey loved racing and he also loved the activity Internet. He was just 34 when he died and it is a testament to his tenacity, perseverance and vision the company he founded, Internet Marketing Center, continues to grow more profitable under the leadership of his protégé, Derek Gehl.
Did Corey Rudyl make mistakes? Of course, he did, but he did not see them as such. He had the foresight to recognize that each "failure" could be transformed into a huge success it has simply applied the lessons he learned from his mistakes.
However, perhaps one of the most famous men who do not wish not abandon the face of repeated failures is Thomas Edison. When Napoleon Hill interviewed Edison he joked that if he had not found the secret of the lamp filament at this moment it would be in the lab working on it instead of wasting time talking to him! Edison also said,
"I was successful because I ran out of things that do not work."
We now have all the advantages the invention of Thomas Edison in ways that Edison himself may have found too many to consider. Or perhaps I am arrogant.
Walt Disney was a great visionary who never gave up. When it was discovered he was buying thousands of acres of marshland in the popular mind in Florida, he was mad, but they did not have his vision. Walt Disney has died before his dream could be fully achieved.
Someone later told an associate of Walt Disney that it was a shame he has not seen her park theme in all its splendor. The associate smiled and replied:
"Oh, he has seen."
Perhaps Thomas Edison's vision of how the incandescent light bulb would illuminate our lives was much more detailed and wider than I give him credit for. Who am I speaking? While I was working on eliminating my limiting beliefs, I do not know if I had the power to keep 10,000 experiments.
I think my point is that if you learn from your failures and keep striving towards your goals or dreams you succeed because what you is also looking for your search. I would leave you with this quote from Thoreau
"If a trustworthy person advances in the direction their dreams, and endeavors to live the life they have imagined, they will meet a success unexpected in common hours. "

John Grisham $66 With his seven legal thrillers, all published since 1989, John Grisham has won a huge following of readers and set a standard few contributors to the genre can match. Because of the success of his novels, the legal thriller is the most popular genre in American fiction today. In this study, Pringle explains how Grisham’s legal thriller evolved from the thriller tradition and borrowed from the heroic romance novel, gothic novel, crime novel, and detective fiction. She shows how his novels examine contemporary social and legal problems that do not have simple solutionsecology, ethnic relations, capital punishment, corporate greed, and health insuranceand how he depicts both the legal system and lawyers in their best and worst lights. Following a biographical chapter that focuses on Grisham’s childhood in Arkansas, education, political career, and development as a writer, Pringle examines the legal thriller, its antecedents, and Grisham’s contribution to the genre. An individual chapter is devoted to analysis of each of his novels. Each chapter synopsizes the novel, discusses its reception by critics, and features sections on plot development, character development, social/historical context and issues, and an alternative critical perspective from which to approach the novel, such as psychoanalytic theory or feminist criticism. The work includes a complete bibliography of Grisham’s work, critical sources, and list of reviews of all of his novels. Because of Grisham’s popularity with adults and young adults and the contemporary issues he raises, this study is valuable to students, book discussion group participants, and other interested readers, and is an essential purchase for school and public libraries. |
