Question for someone who has read The Gunslinger stephen king?

I ordered the entire series of the dark tower. I read the first 100 pages of the gunslinger and still do not know what it is. Firstly what is a shooter and why is it after or following man black. I get that it is a kind of Western, but in a different universe? I have read several books king, and never had a problem understanding. I can not get it at all. What is the store about?

The story develops as you go. Not many answers are given at the beginning, but believe me, you'll have a better appreciation of the quest of Roland soon enough. In a parallel universe, a shooter (like a knight-errant / Agent White, which is the force of all that is "good" in the multiverse) has named Roland Deschain quest for The Dark Tower, a structure holding all of reality itself. One of the problems. Its wear. The multiverse (all the infinite universes) is decaying and tries to stop him by finding and fixing this Tour. The Man in Black: a familiar Avid fans king, if only by initials this time (index index), but by character. This time, he is the head of Roland in a chase through the desert. Roland wants to catch the man in black find instructions on how to get to the dark tower. Also, he wants revenge for acts malignant magicians to destroy his father's Court, royalty, marriage, and the fall of his city. The series is much easier to swallow after a book. Except perhaps for Volume 5.
