What stephen king that I should read next?

I'm on a kick Stephen King … and I collect his first editions. So I much sitting around waiting to be read. It is my favorite of his, stand Skeleton Crew, the shining and cell … if it will help you decide which I like to read more. Here is what I have to choose between: the misery of the Dead Zone and The Dark Half nightmares Pet Sematary Salem's Lot Thinner Dreamscapes [under Richard Bachman] What name should I read next? Why? Thank you in advance. Thank you for the suggestions of 8 years, but I read the insomnia. He has simply not do it for me: p

Pet Sematary is one of his earlier works, and it is great because it is horror in its true sense, as "Salem's Lot. Diluent is a great thriller read more quickly mind. The Dark is intriguing and interesting presence, but my first King book was The Dead Zone, it occupies a special place in my heart because he threw me on my dedication to life-long king of all things, so my vote to the next. I'm obsessed with both the base and the Dark Tower series, and strongly recommend you pick it up. Be warned, the first book, Gunslinger starts a little slowly, but stay with it, and you'll be hooked. I read the whole series twice, and probably again this summer. Me too and a collector of first edition, and happily picked most of my copies before it was so expensive to buy. I actually found a Carrie hardcover first edition and only paid $ 3 for it. Try not to be jealous).

Stephen King's It

Stephen King’s It

$3.05

Is there anything scarier than clowns? Of course not. And who knows scary better than Stephen King? You see where we’re going. It puts a malevolent clown (given demented life by a powdered, red-nosed Tim Curry) front and center, as King’s fat novel gets the TV-movie treatment. Even at three hours plus, the action is condensed, but an engaging Stand by Me vibe prevails for much of the running time….

Blaze: A Novel by Richard Bachman (First Edition Hardcover)

$1.96

From publishers Weekly
written circa 1973, this trunk novel, as Bachman’s double (aka Stephen King) refers to it in his self-deprecating foreword, lacks the drama and intensity of Carrie and the horror opuses that followed it. Still, this fifth Bachman book (after 1996’s The Regulators) shows King fine-tuning his skill at making memorable characters out of simple salt-of-the-earth types. Clayton B…

Stephen King

Stephen King

$45

Stephen King: America's Storyteller explores the particular American-ness of Stephen KingÕs work. It is the first major examination to follow this defining theme through KingÕs 40-year career, from his earliest writings to his most recent novels and films made from them. Stephen King begins by tracing Stephen KingÕs rise from his formative years to his status as a one of the most popular writers in publishing history. It then takes a close look at the major works from his canon, including The Shining, The Stand, It, Dolores Claiborne, and The Dark Tower. In these works and others, author Tony Magistrale focuses on KingÕs deep rooted sense of the American experience, exemplified by his clear-eyed presentation of our historical and cultural foibles and scars; his gallery of unlikely friendships that cross race, age, and class boundaries; and his transcendent portrayals of uniquely American survival instincts, fellowship, and acts of heroism from the least likely of sources.

The Writing Family of Stephen King

The Writing Family of Stephen King

$35

This work examines Stephen King's position in popular literary circles and then considers the contributions of his family to the landscape of contemporary fiction. Though they have to a degree been eclipsed by Stephen King's popularity, the work of his wife, Tabitha King, and sons, Owen King and Joe Hill, have found varying levels of success in their own right. The three have traveled their own writing paths, from supernatural fiction to contemporary literary fiction. This is the first extended exploration of the works of three authors who have too long been overshadowed by their proximity to "the King of Horror."

Stephen King on the Big Screen

Stephen King on the Big Screen

$20

From 1976 to the present day, there have been over 45 films adapted from the spine-tingling works of Stephen King. In Stephen King on the Big Screen, Mark Browning addresses the question of why some of the film adaptations of the world’s best-selling author are much more successful than others.By focussing on the theoretical aspect of genre, Browning brings an original approach to familiar films and suggests new ways of viewing them. Although often associated with the macabre, King’s stories form the basis for dozens of narratives, which are clearly not horror from Stand By Me to Hearts in Atlantis. How are The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption successful as prison movies? How do Cujo and The Shining work as family dramas? Are Dreamcatcher and Christine merely updated 1950s B-movies? The book is the first written by a film specialist to consider every stephen king film given a theatrical release, including work by Stanley Kubrick, David Cronenberg and George A. Romero and the first to consider in detail films like Creepshow, Sleepwalkers and 1408. The style, whilst critically rigorous, is designed to be accessible to discerning readers of King and fans of films based on his work.

Hollywood's Stephen King

Hollywood’s Stephen King

$20

Ever since Stephen King's first book, Carrie, became a bestseller, Hollywood has scrambled to cash in on the appeal of the most popular novelist in recent history. More than 17 films have been adapted from King novels or stories, including such commercial and critical hits as The Shining, Misery and The Shawshank Redemption. In this perceptive and enthusiastic book, Magistrale, an expert on the American gothic genre, examines these films in the context of their sources, demonstrating how they elaborate on and, in some cases, distort King's meaning. Magistrale investigates such topics as the fear of menstruation in Carrie, infatuation with technology in Christine and male hubris in Pet Sematary. He also explores some of the conflicts King has had with the high-profile auteurs who adapt his books.
