The best books and DVDs for babies?

My son is not due until the end of May, but I started buying books for children to put aside for him. There are so many to choose from, and I do not know if there are some that are better / more popular than most or not. So I think to buy Baby Einstein dvds to enhance learning. If anyone has any advice on what books are the best or DVDs well or better than others, I appreicate any advice you may have. Thank you!

Just something to keep in mind the extent DVDs are concerned. They work with parental interactions. Parents tend to think that if they their child watching TV with an educational DVD that it walk, but it does not work that way. If you want, I have a section that deals with what I can email to you.
