What is the best biography book on the life of the Beatles.?

I had heard about one but can’t remember the author. I’m trying to find a special Beatles gift. Any ideas?

why?

because as the title of book says,he was actually there almost from the beginning(brown had been associated with the beatles from the time they were signed by brian epstein in 1961 till their 1970 breakup,he was a part of brian epstein’s company NEMS enterprises and an executive for the beatles company apple!)

he wasn’t just some journalist who’d done a few interviews with the beatles(see ray coleman’s book shout),unlike a lot of beatles books where the authors weren’t able to interview the beatles themselves,brown had interview access to the beatles,their families,past and present people who worked for them(derek taylor,the former beatles press agent,was working for george even after the beatles breakup),ex wife’s and girlfriends,family of ex-beatles(pete best and stu sutcliffe),those who worked with the beatles in the studio,business associates,basically he had interview access to anybody associated with the group!

i’m on my 3rd copy of this book!

i lost one and gave the other one away(wtf was i thinking!)

Sensory biographies $15.95 Robert Desjarlais’s graceful ethnography explores the life histories of two Yolmo elders, focusing on how particular sensory orientations and modalities have contributed to the making and the telling of their lives. These two are a woman in her late eighties known as Kisang Omu and a Buddhist priest in his mid-eighties known as Ghang Lama, members of an ethnically Tibetan Buddhist people whose ancestors have lived for three centuries or so along the upper ridges of the Yolmo Valley in north central Nepal. It was clear through their many conversations that both individuals perceived themselves as nearing death, and both were quite willing to share their thoughts about death and dying.
