5 tips to help College students make grades Top
Did you know that each year more than 17 million students enter college, only half of them will actually be higher? Believe or not, according to the Department of Education, 45% of students attending the College of abandonment or do not. When these students enter college, they all have great expectations and aspirations of making good grades and diploma.
Each semester, I see students make simple mistakes which, unbeknownst to them, jeopardize their grades. More students and more are in decline or fail out of college every year because they lack the essential information that goes beyond typical class skills.
Here are five suggestions for my book, The Confessions of a college professor for students who need and want to make better grades:
- Go the class. Today, many students first make the mistake of missing the first class because they think it is a loss time. But it is a mistake that will cause many problems throughout the semester. When you miss the first day of class, not only do you need more information relevant, but must also create a bad first impression.
- Before you go to class, learn what books or articles the professor wrote. Buy a copy of their latest book, or borrow from the library and take it to class with you on the first day. If there are no books to find an article by the teacher and read it. This will impress the teacher and show that you have an interest in equipment and the work of Professor.
- Introduce you to your teacher the first day and make a comment on their book or article. Just because you are familiar with your name does not assume that the teacher will know and remember. It's up to you to leave the rest of the class, and the first way to do this is to get the professor to associate your face with your name.
- Schedule an appointment with your professor during the first two weeks of school. Most students wait until there a crisis in their lives for an appointment with the teacher. Take the initiative and meet the teacher before the crisis. It helps to create credibility and soil the relationship between you and the teacher. In the appointment of Professor letting them know of your interest in the subject, and ask what you can do to get a higher score class.
- Ask your teacher how it will help you remember professor. Ultimately, it could work to your advantage to receive a better rating. Do not underestimate the power of this issue.
While these tips may seem innocent on the surface, they can make a big difference in the results you receive if you apply them.
