Can you name some really good novels/authors off to me please?
I love to read, but I need people to reccommend some books to me. I like most genres, not too into the romance novels.
Can anyone refer me to a good book club?

The English Patient is a great novel, by Michael Ondaatje. While the movie was good, the novel is 10 times better.
Older novel called Member of the Wedding by Carson McCullers. It’s delightful.
Any of William Styron’s novels (Sophie’s Choice, The Long March, Lie Down In Darkness, etc.) though he writes long, involved novels.
Mysteries–Patricia Cornwell, Janet Evanovich (her stuff had a lot of humor to it), John Sanford.
The Water is Wide (Conrack) by Pat Conroy. Most of his novels and this particular nonfiction book have been made into movies, but his writing is good. (The Great Santini, The Prince of Tides, Lords of Discipline. His work has good plotlines and humor, with good writing on top of it.)
Ken Kesey’s One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.
Poet Langston Hughes autobiography.
