When Star Trek Next Generation TV series will be available on Blu Ray?
I heard that this will not be like it was not filmed in high definition. format and it does not look better than DVD. I find it hard to believe that the original series looks pretty good on Blu Ray.
TOS was shot on film, TNG was shot on videotape. Film more benefits of Blue Ray and upscaling definition video cassette standard. It is more "information" available about the movie to encode. Upscaling can not create data, if data are missing from the original, upscaling will not do much.
