Does region 1 dvd's work on a laptop European?

I was considering buying the "Minds Season Criminal 4 'box from Amazon.com, because it is not our here yet and will not in the foreseeable future. I was wondering if DVDs are Region 1 would work with my laptop? It's a Dell Inspiron and it's European. Thank you very much for the help.
