childrens audio stories
Where can I buy a children's book entitled History of the Bible "of the princess and the baby" by Janice Kramer?

I need book and audio format. The band is fine Damn, I'll even take his record to disk, but CD is obviously preferable. He first was published in 1969. I know that Amazon.com and eBay have copies of the book, but I also want the audio goes with it. Responses like "try Amazon" and "try eBay "is given a thumbs down because I obviously checked already. Thank you.

The Notebook

When you consider that old-fashioned tearjerkers are an endangered species in Hollywood, a movie like The Notebook can be embraced without apology. Yes, it’s syrupy sweet and clogged with clichés, and one can only marvel at the irony of Nick Cassavetes directing a weeper that his late father John–whose own films were devoid of saccharine sentiment–would have sneered at. Still, this touchingly i…

Childrens Health Issues in Historical Perspective

Childrens Health Issues in Historical Perspective

$85

From sentimental stories about polio to the latest cherub in hospital commercials, sick children tug at the public’s heartstrings. However sick children have not always had adequate medical care or protection. The essays in Children’s Issues in Historical Perspective investigate the identification, prevention, and treatment of childhood diseases from the 1800s onwards, in areas ranging from French-colonial Vietnam to nineteenth-century northern British Columbia, from New Zealand fresh air camps to American health fairs. Themes include: the role of government and/or the private sector in initiating and underwriting child public health programs; the growth of the profession of pediatrics and its views on “proper” mothering techniques; the role of nationalism, as well as ethnic and racial dimensions in child-saving movements; normative behaviour, social control, and the treatment of “deviant” children and adolescents; poverty, wealth, and child health measures; and the development of the modern children’s hospital. This liberally illustrated collection reflects the growing academic interest in all aspects of childhood, especially child health, and originates from health care professionals and scholars across the disciplines. An introduction by the editors places the historical themes in context and offers an overview of the contemporary study of children’s health.

Children Writing Stories

Here is a worthy successor to Ted Hughes Poetry in the Making, the book that enabled me to gain the confidence to begin to find my own voice as a story teller. Children Writing Stories confirms that we all have a story to tell if we are enabled to develop enough self-belief. So much of our natural creativity is smothered during our school years. Teachers and children feel hemmed in by the strictures of a curriculum which simply does not allow room for creativity to breathe. Unlock the chains, let the light in, and this is the kind of writing that will flow, this is the kind of intellectual and emotional growing that can transform young lives.. Michael Morpurgo, Childrens Laureate 2003-2005. What a splendid book! Michael Armstrong pays attention – thirty years of it – to the stories that children write. We get two for one: the childrens own delightful and intriguing work – I want to rush off and write some Wally (age 5) stories of my own – and Michael Armstrongs intense interpretations. . Allan Ahlberg. ”This is real learning at its best, teaching by example, through painstaking scrutiny of the art of young writers. Absorbing, moving, enlightening, inspiring.”. Morag Styles, University of Cambridge. In Children Writing Stories, Michael Armstrong reveals the creative force of children’s narrative imagination and shows how this develops through childhood. He provides a new and powerful understanding of the significance of narrative for childrens intellectual growth and for learning and teaching. The book explores a series of real stories written by children between the ages of five and fifteen, and traces the growth of literary consciousness from the dawn of written narrative in the kindergarten, through the early years of schooling and on into adolescence. Each chapter opens with a story or stories, which the author then goes on to examine in detail, so that the book may be seen as both a select anthology of childrens stories and as a critical account of childrens narrative practice.
