FAQ – Who Is Tintin The Belgian Boy Detective?

Tintin is a young Belgian reporter that the heroic action through solves mysteries that are presented at the beginning of each comic book. Tintin was first introduced to the world in Tintin in the Land of the Soviets. Created by George Remi the first adventure was released in a Belgium paper in 1929-1930.

Tintin and the Land of the Soviets was a political satire that mocked claims Soviets to have a thriving economy and found an audience due to the concern of many people with the Soviet empire. Remi was distrust of the empire Soviet.

The Tintin comic series have a formula almost feels about it. Most books deal with Tintin having to solve a mystery species while also somehow have to write a story for his newspaper.

Tintin and The Black Island is a good example of how books work. In The Tinitn Black Isle is an airplane making an emergency landing and will try to help. As Tintin goes to the pilot's aid the pilot shoots. Tintin is recovering in the hospital where he learns that a similar plane crashed in a field in Sussex from the detectives Thompson and Thompson.

Tintin then, of course, decide to investigate mystery to himself. The adventure thus starts leading Tintin to be accused of assault and robbery of a fellow passenger on a train journey and later kidnapped and forced to jump off a cliff (saved by his dog covered in snow before it becomes too). The trail leads to an island in Scotland where the stories of a strange beast is said to kill humans. Tintin discovers the Island to be the hideout of forgers and cleverly captures them and holds them until the police arrive.

Tintin is always able to solve the mysteries that come before it, although some are spread over two books such as Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon. Tintin may solve these mysteries, but curiously not often seen in an item delivery. The end of the comic strips often sees him receiving a hero's reception along with the Captain Haddock and Snowy.

Tintin is a young hero, but lacks the color of many of the other characters appearing in comic books. The author shows a more or less neutral attitude that make it understandable and easy to identify with the target audience and why Spielberg and Jackson in hopes of capturing the audience's attention
