Internet authors Do not Need Calendar
Of all the useless advice given to potential authors, perhaps the most useless is the idea that to be successful author you need 'time'. That is, your great idea for a novel is to hit the public consciousness while making history relevant to them. An example might be, for example, that at this time in the autumn months of 2007, I am working on a thriller that part of the proposition that the princess Diana was killed deliberately in 1997 in Paris by a combination of national security agencies. I started working a synopsis of a couple of months and I have a number chapters under my belt. Now watch the TV News and notice that a new Inquest has begun in London on the death of Mrs. Royal. What luck! Well, no. If my book was in the library now at this moment in time then it might attract attention and possibly sales. But not even be completed during few months. At the moment it reaches its publisher, even if you like, you may not need a traditional publisher for many months to have it ready for publication. Judging by their usual time, they might get the new book on the shelves of books, for example, Christmas 2008. Woops, the moment has passed. Timing is everything, say consultants. You must have got the book written last year, then be ready when clearly needed. Like now.
Great. Good advice. That is, if he could see in the future or, more likely, never assumed that an investigation be carried out in England. Last year, nobody believed it was possible. After all, the idea had been around for nearly a decade and the authorities are refusing it. Who could have foreseen what would happen? Worse, they would risk their time and imagination to create a novel about Lady Di in case they became commonplace. Not many authors will double its creative for that eventuality. It is better to write the book I really want to write, not what you expect the public will enjoy. After all, the synchronicity is very rare, very rare. I know only one real example. An author in England, now famous for his science fiction, wrote an adventure back in the 1970s about a war the South Atlantic. The editors rejected it, but when the Falklands War broke out in 1982, excavated, dusted it off, and published with great success. Much money was made. So was the writer. His career started, from that day.
Back to Princess Diana. Okay, so that publishers are going to find difficult to "jump on the bandwagon ', but what could I do an author on the Internet? The answer is enough. It seems, in fact, that research is expected to deteriorate for another six months. A lot of time to finish the first draft and publish an on-line, on-demand publisher like Lulu. That means that, yes, the Author Internet could make use of the "depth advice and make their" novel by Diana available, while his name remains on the news. It is a great opportunity! Anyone else willing to give me a chance?
Well, maybe, not me. Because I have an even more interesting opportunity that has arisen recently. A friend of mine participated in a TV documentary earlier this year. The program is part of a series coming out soon. The date, for broadcast on television national has not been agreed, but probably later than October. In August I had the idea of writing his biography, (or, more accurately, his autobiography, written in part with my help). In terms of traditional publishers, this is a ridiculous schedule. Not so for the author's website. The first draft of the book was gathered in September and uploaded to Lulu in early October. My vision is this: my friend will be interviewed on "Richard and Judy TV 'chat show later this month. They be keen to hear of his television. You'll notice that he has had a very exciting and interesting life. "Yes, Judy," he will say: " and have written about it. "At that moment his hand he paperback bright color. Richard and Judy love books. Accept the copy on offer and agree to read it. Later this year, check it. My friend is invited back into the show to discuss it. His career takes off. The rest is history.
There is an issue here. It's just this: In the world of traditional publishing, is a heck of a long term goal of writing a manuscript to get the book printed, distributed and on the shelves of the library. In that world, it is pure luck whether the new novel comes at a time that is in some way relevant to readers. Those who are fortunate are said to have "good moment. "However, in the world of Internet Copyright, is a quick view of the damn manuscript to print, which means that time does not matter. In real terms, a matter of months is nothing, but that's how long the online publishing process can take from start to finish.
Another good reason for Applicants writers to look for the first time on the Internet, instead of the advertised claims often traditional Publishers. Think about it. You read the newspaper, see the news television. It gives you an idea for a book. Great. It could only perhaps a little luck to succeed in getting your novel published and public opinion before the news goes completely out of date. What an opportunity it is!
