Are there any stories or books similar to jane austen’s pride and prejudice and Persuasion?
I don’t mean sequels. I mean plots similar to these books like the hate then love relationship of elizabeth bennet or losing someone you love and meeting again years later like anne elliot. Books, movies, etc. about that Thanks.
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte would be a wonderful read to fit into what you’re looking for. You can find a link to it on Project Gutenberg here:
http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/1260
Also, something more along the same lines (and by the very gifted Miss Austen) would be Sense & Sensibility. Think not of a love/hate but of a social station vs. love and attraction idea. Again, a link to it on Project Gutenberg can be found here:

The Inheritance by Louisa May Alcott would also be a good choice, written in a similar style.

As mentioned by another, The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks (either film or book version) is an excellent choice as well. Noah and Allie’s story is a little more modern and still incredibly romantic and heart-wrenching!

Many of the other books here are great choices as well, but IMHO I would start with Jane Eyre- a little somber at times, but an excellent read nonetheless.
Good luck and happy reading!

Persuasion [VHS] $16.87 Movie adaptations of Jane Austen’s classic novels were all the rage (relatively speaking) in the mid-1990s. Clueless updated Austen’s Emma, which was more conventionally adapted in another version (Emma) starring Gwyneth Paltrow. Emma was produced yet again, this time for British television, as were a celebrated miniseries of Pride and Prejudice and this splendid film of Austen’s Persuasion. Persu… |

Persuasion [VHS] $14.49 This 1971 BBC version of Persuasion may not provide much competition for the excellent 1995 adaptation, but it’s a thorough, faithful adaptation. At 27, Anne Elliot (Anne Firbank) has faded into compliant spinsterhood. She’s the voice of reason in her self-absorbed, class-conscious family, whose excesses have brought them to near financial ruin. At 19, Anne loved a sailor, now the Captain Freder… |

Sense & Sensibility (Special Edition) $4.73 Emma Thompson scores a double bull’s-eye with this marvelous adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel. Not only does Thompson turn in a strong (and gently humorous) performance as one of the Dashwood sisters–the one with “sense”–she also wrote the witty, wise screenplay. Austen’s tale of 19th-century manners and morals provides a large cast with a feast of possibilities, notably Kate Winslet, in her pr… |

Persuasion $9.99 Jane Austen’s last and most melancholy novel was published posthumously in 1818. In PERSUASION, Austen creates a strong, mature, and independent heroine, Anne Elliot. Having foolishly broken off an engagement eight years earlier to Frederick Wentworth, a penniless naval officer, Anne at the age of 27 has remained unmarried–and secretly devoted to Wentworth. Living with her vain, self-absorbed, and (of course) ridiculous father, Anne is sinking gently into a resigned spinsterhood when Wentworth, who has gained wealth and a name for himself, comes back into her life. Set in 1814 and 1815, PERSUASION was written in 1816, when Jane Austen was already ill; perhaps her decline left its mark on the novel. PERSUASION, however, while more serious in tone than Austen’s other works–and, interestingly, more attuned to landscape and the beauties of nature–retains her gift for satire and her sometimes mordant wit. |
