Does ebooks work? Is it a scam or does it actually work?
well…..i really need to get this book 145th street:short stories by walter dean myers. and the project of the book is due tomorrow. there are no copies here were i live and i really need to get the book. i want to buy this book on ebooks so i have a copy of it on my computer but i am not sure if it is a scam or not
It’s probably not a scam if it’s from a mainstream ebook website. (It’s offered on several legit ebook sites, so it should be fine.)
However, ebooks have different formats–you need the right software to read the ebook. Don’t buy it if you can’t tell if you can read it; the site that sells the ebook should tell you what you need to read it. Almost all ebooks can be read with free software, but some don’t work on some computers.
Microsoft’s .lit format can only be read on Windows machines.
.lrf can only be read on Sony Reader or the Sony ebook library software, which only works on Windows machines. PDFs can be read by anyone with Adobe Reader, and there are other PDF readers that are smaller.
